Jamaica stopped arch-rivals Trinidad and Tobago 2-1 with goals from Luton Shelton and captain Andy Williams, in the opening game of the Digicel Caribbean Cup Finals in Barbados. Nigel Pierre got the lone goal for T&T. Trinidad and Tobago seemed to have had the early advantage before Jamaica struck 13 minutes into the game when Luton Shelton had an easy tap in at the back post. The Boyz then had periods of dominance and increased the lead at 35 minutes when Williams scored from a Jermaine Hue's right-sided corner with a header at the near post. T&T immediately pulled a goal back when Nigel Pierre picked up a long ball at the edge of the penalty area and lobbed it over Shawn Sawyers in goal.
