Jamaica secured a spot to the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup as they were victorious 1-0 over host nation Barbados in their Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Digicel Cup final round match. Jamaica got a lucky goal eight minutes into the game thanks to the Bajan keeper, Jason Boxhill, as he lost possession of the ball to Jamaica's captain Andy Williams, who scored into an unguarded net. After a brief protest the goal was allowed to stand. Barbados captain John Parris was red carded early in the second half and Jamaica did little to capitalize in a game that poor quality and lackluster play from both teams was the standard of play. In the first game Cuba came-from-behind to secure a 2-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago. The championship-deciding game will be between Jamaica and their Caribbean neighbours Cuba, who have a superior goal difference. Jamaica's team: - Shawn Sawyers, Jermaine Taylor, Damion Stewart, Tyrone Marshall, Garfield Reid, Fabian Davis, Omar Daley (Keith Kelly 72nd), Jermaine Hue (Khari Stephenson 63rd), Andy Williams, Luton Shelton and Roland Dean (Teofore Bennett 68th).
