Jamaica's Girlz Crash Out Of The 2006 CONCACAF Women’s U-20s
Jamaica's Reggae Girlz lost 4-1 to Mexico for the third and final Confederation berth to the 2006 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Championship CONCACAF Tournament. The USA captured the top spot after a 3:2 victory over Canada. Both teams had already qualified to the 2006 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Championship in Russia. In the fight for the third spot, Mexico went ahead 19 minutesinto the game, as Jamaica's Christina Murray scored an own goal. The Reggae Girlz bounced back with Venicia Reid putting Jamaica level in the 33rd minute as the half ended 1-1. Mexico took the lead two minutes into the second half and then goals in the 68th and 90th minutes sent the young Jamaican Girlz packing.
